- Rosie O’Donnell will be returning to television to host a variety show for NBC. The show sounds like her old talk show plus sketches:
The special will feature celebrity guests, musical acts, comedy skits and a prize give-away for the show’s in-studio and home audiences.
The show will be live, which should be interesting. The official announcement comes on the heels of rumors about a variety show CBS is developing with John Mayer, a show that will assuredly not be live, at least after JM and friends go blue one too many times. And again, it’s CBS so one too many times will be once.
- The Diablo Cody-written dark comedy The United States of Tara, which stars Toni Collette and John Corbett, will premiere on Showtime January 18th so go ahead and set your Tivo because you can never be too ridiculously early amirite.
- Joshua Jackson fans, rejoice: Fringe’s ratings have been impressive enough to garner the show a full season order. Previous JJ Abrams show victims, start growing a thicker skin.
- Tonight, of course, the most anticipated program in these United States is the debate between the vice presidential candidates. It will air at 8PM C/9PM E. And on that note, here’s the topical new video from my beloved Fall Out Boy for the song “I Don’t Care” off their upcoming album Folie à Deux, which will be out on Election Day.
Love the cameos.
